FAQ's

Q: What software do you use?
A: I use a mix of Final Cut Pro, LiveType, DVD studios pro, Soundtrack pro, Garageband, and Adobe Photoshop 7.0 (I do not use a capture program)

Q: What Camera do you use?
A: Up until "The New Avenger", I used a Sony DCR-TRV720 NTSC Digital Hanycam (450x digital zoom), now I use a Canon Vixia HV30 Camcorder.

Q: Do you recommend your camera?
A: Yes, I would recommend the Canon Vixia HV30
But I would not recommend the Sony DCR-TRV720 NTSC

Q: How many fps (frames per second) do you use?
A: My standard is 15 frames per second, but it has varied at times.

Q: How do you keep the camera so still?
A: I have a remote-control for my camera, so in fact, each frame I'm not ever touching the camera.  (unless I fail epicly and bump it...) If I'm not using my tripod, I usually have my camera secured by having it on a baseplate, surrounded, and encased in bricks.  I basically build a "seatbelt" around it.

(also secure the set your filming with tape.... as well as the baseplate the camera is on.)

Q: How many lights do you use? and how do you reduce light flicker?
A: I use two lamps... I should probably use three... but so far 2 has worked fine for me.

I reduce light flicker by taping a piece of paper over the lamp.  It acts as a filter, filtering out all the harsh light.  Also wearing black while brickfilming helps.  (It reflects less light, so as you move, the light doesn't get reflected.) oh, and don't use natural light. (sun) as it will MOVE during the day, and create TONS of light flicker.

Q: How do you do stop-motion?
A: Look up tutorials on YouTube

Q: Can I voice for you?
A: I'm sorry, but I cast my own voice actors.

Q: Can you voice for me?
A: I get lots of these questions, and the answer is, if I'm not busy, yes!  But I am usually busy... so most likely no.

Q: Will you make a brickfilm for me to post on my channel?
A: Nope.

Q: Will you make a brickfilm for me to post on my channel if I pay you?
A: Depends how much you are willing to pay, if I have the sets/pieces required to make the plot, and how much time I can have.... basically if you are SERIOUS about wanting to pay me to make you a film, then contact me via business email (aag@2gvideo.com), and we'll talk about it.
